Soda Fountain
WaKeeney has the distinction of having two old fashioned soda fountains on Main Street. Be kid again and visit the Cleland Drug Store and Gibson Health Mart. Climb up on one of the barstools and enjoy an old fashion ice cream soda or a malted milk.
Western Kansas Saloon & Grill
The Western Kansas Saloon & Grill was orginally built as a hardware store on Main Street in 1925 and is where the Christmas decorations for WaKeeney were designed and constructed in the late 1940's. The building has be restored to near original complete with hardwood floors, tin ceiling, balcony, and skylight.
Big Creek Golf Course
One of the nicest 9 hole grass green golf courses in Kansas is located 2 miles south of the motel on HWY 283 south. Putting greens, a driving range, and rental cars are available. Tournaments are scheduled through out the golfing season. For more information call 785-743-2420.
