A very warm welcome at the first film hotel in Germany- ... or perhaps in the world. The hotels owner Mr. Artur Brauner who is over 80 years now made more than 250 movies ... and he still works as a movie director. He worked together with all famous German actors and also with many international actors like-Orson Welles- Sean Connery- Brigitte Bardot- James Mason and more. Producing movies of Edgar Wallace e. g. Winnetou and Europa- Europa! made him a famous man. He was nominated for an Oscar for the best foreign movie. He was the first German producer who was honoured like this and no other German producer followed by now. We will guide you through our hotel in the presence of Hollywood and the international movie world. We start our tour in the hotel lobby where posters and photos of famous movies let you remember the good old days. Here you can see a large-format screen where you can sometimes admire past movies or sports events. Directly at the Kurfüstendamm there is the Cafe/Bar Callas with an outdoor terrace designed in the style of the movies of the sixties. Please follow us on the floors now. 182 rooms- suites and apartments are dedicated to great actresses- actors or movie directors. Walking on reels and stars you will reach your room. A photo at the door- a portrait as well as a biography in the room recalls the memories of the great stars. All rooms are equipped in the style of Biedermeier or Castell Gandolfo. There are in every room air-condition, noise isolated windows- mini bar- safe- TV with big screen and Dolby surround- movie channel Premiere- radio- telephone- mailbox- internet access- wireless- LAN- bathroom with shower and bathtub- magnifying mirror and hair drier. Our suites are about 10 square meters larger than the standard rooms and have additional a couch and partly a second room available. Our apartments -one or two rooms- with kitchenette and balconies -in some cases- are dedicated to famous- international movies. The original mural paintings of the most well-known movie scenes were painted by stage designer of the film studios in Babelsberg. Media also means for us to support you with all necessary and modern technical comfort. We are very proud of our own cinema theatre with 99 seats that you can use for your own movie shows. In front of the screen is a stage, ideal for talks, press conferences- discussions- theatre- presentations or revues. Our restaurant BEL AIR offers you a rich tasteful breakfast from the buffet. We hope you will enjoy it beneath the famous Hollywood Hills. Also we always provide a big choice of hot and cold dishes for our conference guests. The 9 conference rooms for up to 220 persons are equipped with the latest technical devices- air condition and large windows to provide the conference rooms with daylight. For your convenience we also have an underground car park. Our Wellness and Fitness area -Cleopatra- is located on the 6th floor. You can relax during a steam sauna or finish sauna- enjoy getting sun-kissed skin in our solarium and/or have a good workout in our fitness centre. Standard Single:
There are 56 single rooms with Queen Size beds and a size of about 25 square meters. Our rooms are situated in three different positions: to the courtyard, to the side street and to the Kurfürstendamm. The furniture is made in the style of Biedermeier in 4 different shades of colours from light brown to dark brown. There are everywhere noise isolated windows. Besides we have smoking and non- smoking rooms and suitable rooms for disabled persons. Additional to the room number do you have the possibility to keep the name of the actor /actress the room is dedicated to. Suitable for 1person.
Standard Double Room:
Our 78 double rooms are equipped with double beds which are separable into two twin beds if requested and have a size of about 30 square meters. The furniture is made in the style of Biedermeier in 4 different shades of colours from light brown to dark brown.
Suite:
Our suites are about 40 - 50 square meters, have a double bed and additional a couch and partly a second room available. The furniture is as well made in the style of Biedermeier in 4 different shades of colours from light brown to dark brown. Our apartments are situated above the roofs of Berlin on the 6th floor and are additional equipped with a kitchenette and partly with balcony. The furniture is made in the style of Castell Gandolfo and the colours are pastel to Mediterranean. With a size of 40-50 square meters of the most of them you can feel comfortable even if you stay longer. Our apartments are dedicated to famous international classical movies. The original mural paintings of the most well-known movie scenes were painted by stage designer of the film studios Babelsberg. Therefore you can choose between 20 different apartments from ? My fair Lady? to ?Cabaret?, ?Casablanca? a.s.o. Suitable for 2 persons.
